The Land of Stories — The Wishing Spell

After I read the Harry Potter series, I was looking for a new series that can be just as interesting, and my mom suggested The Land of Stories. The Land of Stories — The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer is the first book in this series. At first, I wasn’t eager to read it because I thought I wouldn’t like any series better than the Harry Potter series. Have you ever felt that about a book — that you thought was your favorite forever? But once I read the first book, I was hooked.

This book is about twins Alex and Conner Bailey’s adventure of learning secrets about their family and father’s past. For Alex and Conner’s birthday, they get an old fairytale book from their grandmother. The adventure begins when they accidentally transport themselves to the fairytale world through this book. Desperately looking for a way back home, they search through the land asking everyone who seems trustworthy, making friends and enemies.

They meet a ‘man’ who gives them some help on getting home. This hunt takes them to see the whole fairytale world and learn more about themselves. Unfortunately, they aren’t the only ones looking for a ‘wish’. With the Evil Queen from Snow White on their tail, will they be able to get home? To find out read “The Wishing Spell” by Chris Colfer.
